Battle for the sun

Change is the only constant in life and every change (even the positive one) is hard by definition, because alongside its every gain, there’s always a loss. And vice versa. What’s more, some of the changes are not our choices (nor consequences of such) and we have absolutely no control over them. And yet they emotionally affect us in the same way (or even more). Unexpected, unwanted, unfair or unannounced, they all need to be acknowledged and lived through anyway. Because all emotions are ought to be felt, even when they are unwanted and hurt like hell. Well, especially then.

Emotional pain is awful, yes, but it’s also very natural.

Right. So how does one soothes that pain?

I love MUSE

I believe that love, as Placebo’s song goes, never has to question why or how.

And so I could put it all into one sentence: I love Muse.

But I feel like explaining. Because it’s been over 10 years and my love still seems to be only growing. And ever since I got into them, I’ve always felt like defying all the haters. I never knew why, but I think I have finally figured it out: that’s my way of expressing love.

Because I love them precisely for what other people seem to hate them.

Floating in the Forth

I’m not the kind of person who cares about well-known people passing away all that much. I’m generally against making a big (public) deal of anyone’s death (whatever the cause), and the last thing I wish to achieve here, is to advertise some not-so-well-known Scottish band only through their recent, tragic end. But I just can’t stay silent, not in the given circumstances.

The chances are that you have never heard about Frightened Rabbit up to this point: point of reading (either here now or on any Scottish news page week ago) that their singer died suddenly, aged 36. But sad as it is, maybe now is actually the perfect time to get to know them…
